About Gary
I grew up in council housing around the Kendale Road area of town and never really left—Bridgwater has always been home. Even while training as a teacher in Bristol, my roots remained firmly planted here. Today, I work as a teacher outside the area, but I commute back home to Bridgwater every single day.
Joining me on this journey is my beloved French Bulldog, Flash. On our regular walks, Flash and I see it all—from the town centre and the green open spaces of Brewery Fields, the Meads, and the Fair Field, to our favourite pitstop, the Admirals Landing down at the Docks, where Flash loves lapping up all the attention.
I'm immensely proud of Bridgwater, its rich history, and its vibrant culture. With so much constant online negativity around, I created Paws on the Ground as a positive space to highlight what makes our town great, share our everyday walks, and celebrate our community from the ground up.
